It will take me awhile to get my blocks pieced, but the journey will be a lot of fun. I have finished all the parts piecing and now can concentrate on the blocks. The speedy quilters out there truly amaze me, and I love seeing the color-combination variations emerge from their efforts.
The values of the red and purple in my quilt make the B blocks appear very blocky. I thought about changing some of the units and tried several variations in EQ7, but in the end I preferred the original choices. Some of the other quilts I have seen have the blocky-looking B-blocks, and I really like them, so I'm sure I will love my finished quilt, AND I have only used stash fabric. I may take out the dark green squares and use all medium-ish greens.
Nice job- I am with you this one is going to take me awhile too.
ReplyDeleteGreat color choices! Looking good so far. I've only got one block a and one block b done so far!
ReplyDeleteHey, it is looking great! Makes me think I should have started too. But I have so much on deck already, looks like fun though.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of everybody doing Easy Street. :) Love your fun colors!
ReplyDeleteLove your colors Fran! I think you're right about the dark greens - just use them in the outside corners of block B and stick to medium greens the block centers.
ReplyDeleteGreat color choices! Can't wait to see the final result! Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteLoving all the different colors people are using. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteLooking very good! Reminds me of little flowers in the forest.
ReplyDeleteLove the way this is coming along - I wouldn't change a thing. And don't sweat about moving at a slower speed than others - it's not a race - we all work to different timeframes. This is going to be really lovely - it is already.
